PESHAWAR (Dunya News) – A police official was killed in a landmine blast here on Tuesday.

According to SSP operation, the landmine exploded near a police picket in Regi Town inuring two police officials. They were rushed to Hayat Medical Complex where one policeman succumbed to injuries.

Police cordoned off the area and started search operation while two bombs weighing five kilograms each were also recovered near the picket and were defused.

Earlier, At least four policemen including a Station House Office (SHO) were injured when a police vehicle came under bomb attack in Pakistan s northwest district of Dera Ismail Khan. The police vehicle was targeted with a remote-controlled bomb in Kulachi area of DI Khan.

SHO Imran Kundi and three other police officials were injured in the incident, DPO said.

On the other hand, a bomb weighing 2.5kilograms was found between four gas pipelines in Rukanpur area of Rahim Yar Khan district. Later, bomb disposal squad was called in to defuse the bomb.

DPO Sohail Zafar Chatha said that gas supply to Punjab would have been suspended as a result of the blast. Meanwhile, Rs. 10,000 reward was announced for the person who spotted the bomb and alerted the police.
