Summary PTI chief Imran Khan inaugurated anti-polio campaign in Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa on Wednesday.
NOSHEHRA (Dunya News) - Pakistan Tahrik-e-Insaf Chairman Imran Khan said that the attacks on polio workers were against Islam and humanity.
He appealed to Taliban and other militant groups to stop attacking polio workers.
The PTI chief inaugurated anti polio campaign by administering Oral Polio Vaccine (OPV) to children at Akora Khattak Hospital in Nowshera district.
Imran Khan along with the Chief Minister Khyber Pakthunkhwa Pervez Khattak administered anti-polio drops to children under five years of age.
Speaking on the occasion, Imran Khan said polio was a crippling disease that could be eradicated by vaccination children constantly and regularly.
He said polio disease has been wiped out almost in the world and time was not for away when our country would get polio free status.
Imran urged people to cooperate with government to protect our children from permanent disabilities.
The PTI chief said that the people of Khyber-Pakhtunkhawa could face denial of foreign countires visas if the measures were not adopted to eradicate polio.
Imran Khan also paid glowing tributes to anti Polio workers for their determination and hard work by visiting door to door for vaccination of children despite security threats. He said nation held sacrifices rendered by anti polio workers and police in line of duties in high esteem and would not go waste.
Meanwhile, Imran Khan also held meeting with JUI-S chief Maulana Sami-ul-Haq.
On this occasion, Maulana Sami-ul-Haq expressed the concern that the government would not move forward to hold talks with Taliban.
