ISLAMABAD (Web Desk) - Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif is chairing a meeting of the Cabinet Committee on Security in Islamabad today (Tuesday).
Advisor on National Security Sartaj Aziz‚ Interior Minister Ch. Nisar Ali Khan‚ Defence Minister Khawaja Muhammad Asif‚ Information Minister Pervaiz Rashid and some other federal ministers besides services chiefs and Chairman Joint Staff Committee are attending the meeting.
During meeting, Director General Military Operation (DGMO) briefed the meeting regarding internal security situation.
The meeting was also briefed regarding situation on borders particularly Line of Control (LoC) in Kashmir and Pak-Afghan border.
Afghan situation also came under discussion during the meeting.
Secretary Interior and Director General ISI briefed the meeting about internal security situation and successes in the ongoing operation in Karachi to bring peace in the city.
The Interior Secretary also briefed the participants about the salient feautres of the proposed National Security Policy which will be later on presented to the Federal Cabinet for its approval.
Earlier‚ Chief of Army of Staff General Raheel Sharif called on the Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and discussed the issues relating to the national security.
