Former MNA Amir Yar sentenced to 3-year prison in fake degree case

Summary Police have arrested Amir Yar Warran and has been shifted to new Central Jail Bahawalpur.

BAHAWALPUR (Dunya News) – A local court has awarded 3-year prison term to a former member of National Assembly from Bahawalpur for holding fake degree.

District and Sessions Judge Bahwalpur Rasheed Qamar awarded three years jail term and five lac rupees fine to former MNA of Pakistan People's Party Amir Yar Warran for possessing a fake degree.

The former MNA, who was on interim bail in the fake degree case, has been transferred to jail after the court sentenced him.

Earlier, a local court has declared former MNA Amir Yar as proclaimed offender as he did not appear in the court during the hearing of the fake degree case against him.

The court had ordered police to arrest the former MNA.
