Summary Nawaz Sharif directs GB government to establish special courts for speedy trial of the culprits.

GILGIT (Web Desk) - Gilgit-Baltistan Council adopted Protection of Pakistan Bill in its session chaired by Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif here on Friday.

The bill envisages speedy trial of the criminals involved in the firing incidents in Chilas and Nanga Parbat and other heinous crimes including kidnapping for ransom and sectarian killings.

Addressing the meeting‚ Nawaz Sharif lauded the arrest of eleven culprits including the mastermind of Nanga Parbat killings.
He directed Gilgit-Baltistan government to establish special courts for speedy trial of the arrested culprits.

He also directed to raise a modern anti-terrorism force to enhance the security measures along Karakoram Highway and in the region.

The council also passed its budget with a total outlay of 826.602 million rupees.

Minister for Kashmir Affairs and Gilgit-Baltistan Birjis Tahir presented the budget. The budget contained development budget worth 325 million rupees‚ and non-development budget of 501.602 million rupees.
