Summary Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf chief Imran Khan says the nation is united against the drone issues.
ISLAMABAD (Web Desk) - Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf chief Imran Khan has said that the whole nation is united against the missile strikes in Pakistan’s territory.
Addressing the protest outside the Parliament House, Imran Khan criticised the PML-N-led government for adopting dual policy on missile strikes in Pakistan’s issue.
Khan said parliamentarians should be honest with the people of Pakistan. “All political parties had decided to stop Nato supplies if drone strikes did not stop. Now these parties are criticising the only party (PTI) which is doing so.”
“Our rulers say one thing to US ambassador and completely the opposite thing with the nation,” he said, stressing over the government to speak truth with the masses.
Khan said that the PTI is the only party which is doing what it promised with the nation.
PTI chief again reiterated that the KPK government won’t allow Nato supply through the province come what may. He said that they will not allow any kind of Nato supply to Afghanistan from any route through Khyber Pakhtunkhwa till their demands are met.
Khan said that missile strikes are not only against the sovereignty of Pakistan but they are also violate international laws, adding a great debate is currently underway in the US and Europe over the legality of missile strikes.
He said that he is proud over KPK government and PTI’s allies for taking a united stand the missile strikes.
The PTI chairman said there was a difference between friendship and slavery. “Pakistan’s relationship with the US is that of slavery not friendship.” Imran Khan further said that the Americans would only respect Pakistan if the country’s government started telling the truth. Khan added that there was a global debate underway over the violation of international and humanitarian laws committed by drone strikes.
Khan cautioned the centre not to attempt to overthrow the PTI led government in Khyber Pakhtunknwa as this would result in their government being overthrown.
Members of the National Assembly and provincial KPK assembly from PTI besides KPK Chief Minister Pervez Khattak participated in the protest.
The PTI has taken their protest to the federal capital after holding sit-ins in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa which blocked the Nato Supply route. The PTI blockade of routes has led to the US suspending the shipment of military hardware out of Afghanistan.
