Summary Bilawal says PPP is not the property of any cricketer or 'mullah' during his address in Karachi.
KARACHI (Dunya News) – Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari said Saturday that personalisation is being done in the name of privatization.
Addressing a gathering of party workers on the occasion of 47th “Youm e Tasees” (foundation day) of PPP at the People’s Secretariat in Karachi, Bilawal Bhuttoo Zardari said his party had opposed the privatisation in the country. He alleged that the PML(N)-led government is trying to loot national exchequer through privatization and also considering to end Benazir Income Support Programme.
“Our detractors say that Bilawal Bhutto Zardari does not speak the same language as common people,” he said.
In his speech, Bilawal highlighted the sacrifices and achievements of Benazir Bhutto and Asif Ali Zardari, stating that the PPP has always challenged the status quo.
He also spoke about the rising cost of living in Pakistan and said the PPP will raise their voices on behalf of the poor.
At the end of his speech, Bilawal chanted party slogans along with the party workers and later joined his sister Bakhtawar Bhutto and aunt Faryal Talpur to cut a cake in celebration of 46 years of the party’s existence.
Several leading members of the PPP were in attendance including former ambassador to the US Sherry Rehman, Senior Senator Mian Raza Rabbani and Sindh Chief Minister Qaim Ali Shah.
