Summary Pharmaceutical firms had demanded the hike in the prices of various categories of medicines.
LAHORE (Web Desk) - Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif on Friday took strict notice of increase in the prices of medicines.
Earlier, the federal ministry of health issued a notification increasing prices of around 11,000 medicines of varied nature by 2 to 15 percent with immediate effect. However, the prices of life-saving drugs were not increased.
A senior officer of Ministry of Health Services said that due to the price issue some medicines were not available in the market and people were facing serious problems.
In a statement today‚ the Prime Minister stated that increase in the prices of medicines is not acceptable and it should be withdrawn immediately.
