PESHAWAR (Dunya News) – Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf’s (PTI) sit-in against drone strikes continued for the fifth day in Peshawar on Wednesday.

The provincial government will officially choke Nato supply routes to Afghanistan today. Meanwhile, the party had set up camps in several districts to monitor trucks passing through the city and prevent Nato containers from entering Peshawar.

Supporters of PTI and Jamaat-e-Islami are present at the protest camps and checking identification documents to distinguish Nato trucks from regular cargo carriers.

Coalition partners in the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa assembly had decided to block Nato supply routes in protest against the US drone campaign in Pakistan. The unmanned offensive was earlier limited to the tribal areas but was recently extended to K-P’s Hangu area.

Earlier on Tuesday, the PTI activists stopped at least nine Nato containers at Hayatabd toll plaza and asked them to go back.
