KARACHI (Dunya News) - Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif has said that the targeted operation would continue till fulfillment of its objectives.
Chairing a high level meeting on Tuesday to review law and order situation in Karachi, Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif directed that the mafias inside jails should be dismantled.
He further directed that all illegal Mobile SIMs should be blocked and biometric system should be henceforth used for issuance of new SIMs.
The PM said that action against the criminals should be taken without any discrimination. Nawaz Sahrif said that the targeted operation would continue till restoration of peace in the city and he would back police and Rangers.
Sindh Governor Dr Ishrat-ul-Ibad and Sindh CM Syed Qaim Ali Shah also attended the meeting.
Briefing the meeting, Sindh Chief Secretary told that that since September this year 63‚475 raids and 455 encounters had been conducted while 74 criminals including target killers and terrorists had been arrested during this period.
The meeting was also briefed that request for establishment of new Anti-terrorism Courts and appointment of new Judges has been sent to Chief Justice Sindh High Court. It was also informed that 41 proxy prisoners have been identified after NADRA verification and these persons were in prisons instead of the real criminals.
Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif said that cases of heinous crimes should be shifted to other provinces as they can be tries threre.
Earlier, Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif laid foundation stone of 2,117mw civil-nuclear power plant in Hab.
Addressing the ceremony, The PM said that this project will be executed with the cooperation of China. He said that China is cooperating with Pakistan in various sectors, adding that the country is proud of China’s support.
The PM said the government determined to change country s fate and to make the nation prosperous and developed. He said that other power projects including Bonji Dam will be initiated soon.
The government wants to develop Karachi as modern city like Dubai‚ Kuala Lumpur and Hong Kong, he added.
