(Web Desk) - Central Information Secretary PTI Dr. Shireen Mazari has stated that Information Minister Pervaiz Rasheed and other ministers are now following the previous PPP government’s line on the US and drones.
In a statement issued on Monday, the PTI leader remarked that the PML-N keep lying to the people while covertly supporting the US.
"Meanwhile the Prime Minister’s vague remarks on stoppage of drones and dialogue are causing even more concern as it shows his inability to stand firmly behind the APC consensus. Already the Prime Minister failed to put forward the APC mandate of demanding the US stop drone attacks when he went to the US; the joint statement of the Sharif-Obama meeting reflected this backtracking with not even the mention of the word drone in it." she said.
Mazari said that this confusion and indecision within the government is making the security situation more acute with greater chances of increased terrorism as the message going out is of a weak and confused government that has made secret understandings with the US yet again.
She said the situation has also been aggravated by a serious question as to who aided and abetted the US drone attack on Hangu where drones flew for several hours before firing their missiles.In fact, on Sunday (24 November) again it was reported that drones were spotted over Hangu with no response from the government.
According to Mazari, the government will have to bear the burden of any terror attack that follows now as a result of its vacillation on ending drones and commencing dialogue.
She reminded the nation that it was now a clear choice of either standing for an independent, dignified people’s Pakistan or a Pakistan steeped in US slavery and the lure of dollars.
