Drone attack: PTI to stage strong protest on Saturday

Summary Imran Khan said that Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif must stop playing dual-politics over drone attacks.

ISLAMABAD (Web Desk) - Chairman of Pakistan Tehrik-e-Insaf (PTI) Imran Khan on Thursday strongly condemned US drone attack in Hangu district.

Talking to media persons in Islamabad, Imran Khan said that this is for the first time that drone strike has been carried out in a settled area of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

He said that his party will stage a strong protest against drone attacks in Peshawar on Saturday and appealed the people to join him.

“People voted PTI to bring peace in Pakistan and we ask our people to join us in this protest in huge numbers” he said.

He said that drone attacks are war crimes and Peshawar High Court has already given its verdict in this regard.

The PTI chief urged Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif to clarify his stance over U.S. drone attacks.

“Honeymoon period for this govt is over. We gave time but now we won t. PM Nawaz is answerable to nation.”

He said that Nawaz Sharif must stop playing dual-politics by promising nation and opposing them when in the US.

Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Government will convene emergency meeting of the cabinet to discuss the issue of latest drone attack in the province, he added.

Giving his views on Rawalpindi tragedy, Imran said Rawalpindi incident was failure of the government, whereas, major responsibility comes in PM Nawaz Sharif s domain.

Imran also remarked that those who favor peace dialogues are termed Taliban apologists.

“Talks are always held with enemies not friends,” he said.
