Summary Says the battle of Karbala was fought between the forces of truth and falsehood.

ISLAMABAD (Online) - Prime Minister, Mian Nawaz Sharif has said that the day of Ashura imparts lessons of sacrifice and selflessness, through the battle between forces of truth and falsehood.

In his special message on the day 10th Muharram, he highlighted the special significance of this historical day, in Islamic history, when Hazrat Imam Hussain (RA), the Holy Prophet’s grandson, took on the forces of falsehood for the glory of Islam.

The PM’s message deliberated that on this very day, the battle was fought between the forces of truth and falsehood, which would continue to realize a lesson of sustained struggle against oppression and tyranny till the Day of Judgment to Muslims, and also for the entire mankind.

“The incident of Karballa, whence the companions of Imam Hussain (RA) were very small in number with little weapons, yet they fought bravely against the well-equipped forces of Yazid, thus becoming instrumental in victory of truth over falsehood, in proving to the world that only truth held sway in fight against the evil forces.

“If a nation is on the right path and bearer of truth, superiority in military weapons cannot discourage or defeat it”, he added.

He further deliberated that the great religion, Islam, stood for brotherhood, equality, truthfulness, and justice; principles, whose implementation could not only assure success in this world and the hereafter, but also ensure the universality of the Islamic message.

“The principles for which Hazrat Imam Hussain (RA) sacrifice his life and the path he chose for the Muslims, we can become an ideal society if we adopt those principles in our individual and collective lives”, he declared.

Nawaz Sharif also expressed his strong resolves and hopes that “By the grace of God, support of Pakistani masses and strength of our faith, we would succeed in this world and in the world hereafter by defeating the forces of falsehood”, while also resolving to fight against terrorism and extremism until their total rout.

He reiterated the Ashura pledge of further strengthening unity, political and social harmony, mutual tolerance, and brotherhood in ranks.
