Summary Yousuf Ayub had challenged the verdict of Election Tribunal for special relief from apex court.
ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) - The Supreme Court of Pakistan has dismissed the plea moved by Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf MPA and Minister Communication Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Yousuf Ayub against his disqualification.
The Election Tribunal had declared Yousuf Ayub ineligible over his fake degree.
A three-member bench headed by Chief Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry conducted the hearing of petition moved by KP minister Yousaf Ayub Wednesday and upheld the verdict of the Election Tribunal and dismissed it declaring him disqualified.
According to Chief Justice, the accused did not meet the criterian set by Article 62 and 63 of the constitution of Pakistan.
The PTI’s MPA had filed a plea in the Supreme Court against the decision of the tribunal.
Yousuf Ayub was elected MPA from PK-50 Haripur-II.
