Fazl asks govt not to take u-turn on talks with Taliban

Summary JUI-F chief has asked government to refrain from taking u-turn on dialogue process with Taliban.

ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) - Federal Finance Minister Ishaq Dar and Information Minister Pervaiz Rasheed called on Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F) chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman on Thursday and discussed with him situation arising after the US drone attack in which Taliban chief Hakimullah Mehsud was killed.

They also discussed strategy regarding government peace talks with Taliban.

Speaking on the occasion, JUI-F chief said that the US drone attack on Hakimullah has sabotaged government’s efforts to initiate peace process with Taliban. Fazl asked the government delegation to continue peace efforts.

The government delegation reiterated its commitment to continue peace negotiation with Taliban.
