(Web Desk) - Islamabad High Court (IHC) on Tuesday barred Najam Sethi from performing his duties as caretaker-Chairman Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB).

The court also suspended the Interim Management Committee and issued notices to its members to file their replies by the end of next month.

The ruling was issued by Chief Justice IHC Justice Shaukat Siddiqui during hearing of a petition filed by Ahmed Nawaz Khan who stated in his plea that formation of an ad-hoc body is violation of court orders.

The court also formulated an election committee headed by former judge of the Supreme Court Justice (retd) Munir A.Shiekh. The committee has been tasked with holding election for the post of Chairman PCB in November as per the procedure laid down by International Cricket Council (ICC).

On October 15, Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif who is also the new Patron-in-Chief of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) gave control of the PCB to an ad hoc committee namely the Interim Management Committee (IMC) for three months.

It is pertinent to mention here that the five-member ad hoc committee included PCB caretaker chairman Najam Sethi, former PCB chairman Shaharyar Khan and ex-Pakistan team manager Naveed Akram Cheema and former Test cricketers Zaheer Abbas and Haroon Rasheed.
