ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has given the task of preparing electoral lists to provincial government.
A session of all four chief secretaries has been convened for October 29 in Islamabad.
According to sources, the decision has been taken following Supreme Court’s order to hold local government polls on given dates.
The ECP earlier told the court that a period of 60 to 90 days were required for the preparation of electoral lists.
Now since the provincial government had announced the dates for holding LG polls, the ECP has put its responsibilities on the provincial governments to prepare electoral lists as well.
