Summary Justice Abid Aziz Sheikh says he had appeared as counsel to Nawaz Sharif 15 years back.
LAHORE (Online) - Justice Abid Aziz Sheikh of Lahore High Court has refused to hear Sharif Family assets case.
A two-member bench of LHC comprising Justice Amin ud Din and Justice Abid Aziz Sheikh took up the case for hearing Wednesday.
Justice Abid Aziz Sheikh while declining to hear the case maintained that he had appeared in the court as counsel to Mian Nawaz Sharif 15 years back therefore, he cannot hear this case.
The court referred back the case to chief justice LHC for formation of new bench. Petitions have been filed by different banks in connection with auction of industrial units of Ittefaq Foundry.
They have taken plea in their petitions that Sharif family had allowed to auction their sick industrial units for repayment of loans but the auction process has not taken place despite lapse of 15 years.
They prayed the court to order for completion of auction process soon so that the loans obtained from the banks could be returned.
