Summary Head of agency says these SIMs are being used by terrorists to hit their targets.
QUETTA (Online): Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) and Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) teams conducted successful raids in Quetta, recovering thousands of illicit Subscriber Identification Module (SIMs).
According to details, PTA and FIA teams in a joint action in various areas of Quetta confiscated 2571 illegal SIMs and arrested six shopkeepers who committing violation to rules and regulations.
Assistant Director of FIA Nisar Ahmed Baloch said that the big department were involved in selling SIMs, adding that the illegal SIMs were being used in acts of terrorism.
He further said that during a survey on July 2, the arrested shopkeepers had been found violating the code of conduct and their licenses were canceled but they kept on selling the SIMs.
On the occasion, Assistant Zonal Director of PTA Kaleemullah said that the survey on July 2 had revealed that the arrested shopkeepers were not following the code of conducted after which a case was registered against them under section 31-A.
