DERA ISMAIL KHAN (Dunya News) - Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Law Minster Sardar Israrullah Khan Gandapur and seven others were killed in a suicide blast in Kulachi on Wednesday.
Talking to Dunya News, KPK Health Minster Shaukat Yusufzai said that the suicide bomber entered into the house of the provincial minster and blew himsel up killing at least eight people and injuring several others.
He said that KPK law minster was meeting with the locals of the area who visited him to pay Eid greetings.
According to police, two brothers of the provincial minster were also injured in the blast.
The law enforcement agencies cordoned off the area while rescue teams rushed the scene and wounded were shifted to hospital.
President Mamnoon Hussain, Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif, Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan, provincial governors and chief minsters have condemned the blast.
Condemning the suicide attack, PTI Chairman Imran Khan has directed the Khyber-Pakhtunkhawa government to launch investigation into the incident and take immediate action to bring the cuprits to book.
Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan has sought report from IG Police Khyber-Pakhunkhwa on the incident.
MQM chief Altaf Hussain expressing the grief over the martyrdom of the provincial minster, termed the incident a great loss and tragedy for the country.
Punjab Chief Minster Shahbaz Sharif telephoned KP Chief Minster Pervez Khattak and expressed grief over the incident. The Punjab CM assured cooperation of his government regarding investigation into the incident.
Israrullah Khan Gandapur was elected as an independent member to the provincial assembly from PK-67 D.I. Khan-IV during general elections in May.
He later joined provincial ruling party Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf and became provincial law minister.
It is worth mentioning here that the PTI chief Imran Khan has been a strong proponent of peace talks with the Taliban, but several officials from his party have been killed in attacks since the May election.
