Summary Interior Minister says Opp parties were indulging in point-scoring over the quake disaster.
ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Interior Minister Ch Nisar Ali Thursday said 348 people have been killed in Balochistan earthquake and more casualties were feared.
He said NDMA was engaged in the rescue and relief work in collaboration with the Balochistan government.
Giving policy statement during the question hour in the National Assembly Nisar said Awaran and Kech districts had been severely damaged by the quake.
About 500 kilo meters of areas has been affected and Frontier Constabulary was taking part in the relief work.
Relief goods were being airlifted to the far-flung areas with the help C-130 and helicopters, he said.
Nisar said the assessment of losses was being made and federal government would extend all possible assistance to the Balochistan government.
“It is national tragedy and no one should indulge in point-scoring in this time of difficulty,” Nisar said.
It may be recalled that Opposition parties in the National Assembly has alleged that government was showing a non-serious attitude towards the Balochistan disaster.
