London: PM condemns Peshawar church attack

Summary PM Nawaz Sharif has strongly condemned Peshawar church attack.

LONDON (Dunya News) - Prime Minster Muhammad Nawaz Sharif on Sunday phoned Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Governor Engr. Shaukatullah, and Chief Minister Parvez Khattak and expressed solidarity with them in the aftermath of tragic incident of bomb blasts targeting a church in Peshawar.

The Prime Minister said that he himself and the entire nation were shocked over the brutality involved in the incident, which not only amounted to murdering of their Christian brothers, sisters and children, but also that of killing a nation.

Nawaz Sharif while talking to the media men after arriving in London from Pakistan said that government had proposed the process of dialogue Taliban with good intentions and this enjoyed the backing of all the political parties. Prime Minister said that the government and the nation was unable to proceed any further after the tragic incident.

Earlier, Nawaz Sharif left Islamabad for New York on Sunday to lead Pakistan’s delegation at the UN General Assembly’s session.

During his weeklong stay in United States the prime minister will address the UN General Assembly on 27th of this month.

Nawaz Sharif will also hold bilateral meetings with world leaders on the sidelines of the General Assembly session. He will discuss various bilateral and regional issues with these leaders.
