Summary Pakistan and Turkey have signed 13 agreements for enhancing cooperation in various fields.
ANKARA (Dunya News) - Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif says Pakistan and Turkey have pledged to intensify their cooperation in energy‚ trade‚ finance‚ transportation‚ infrastructure development‚ security‚ education and culture.
He was speaking at a joint news conference along with his Turkish counterpart Tayyip Erdogan after their talks in Ankara.
Nawaz said consistent with their shared vision of increasing connectivity‚ they have decided to enhance the number of weekly flights between the two countries. He said our finance‚ cultural and educational linkages would also be strengthened.
The PM expressed the confidence that they would be able to carry forward the positive momentum generated by their meeting in Akrana into a comprehensive framework of cooperation.
He said Pakistan and Turkey need to redouble their efforts to promote peace and stability in the region.
Nawaz Sharif said the Turkish Prime Minister will be coming to Pakistan to attend the next meeting of the Strategic Council soon. Before that he will also be coming to Pakistan in November this year to follow up on the agreements signed on Tuesday.
To a question he said a special unit would be established at the Prime Minister House to look after the implementation process and he would personally supervise it.
Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan said the visit of Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif will give a new dimension to the Pakistan-Turkey relations.
He said the visit will help further promote bilateral cooperation between the two countries. He said Turkey gives high importance to its relations with Pakistan.
Turkish PM said cooperation between Pakistan and Turkey is imperative for regional peace and prosperity.
