Foreign security companies can't operate in Pakistan: Nisar

Summary Nisar says government officials involved in criminal activities would be dealt with iron hand.


ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Addressing the National Assembly session on Monday Interior Minister Ch Nisar Ahmad said according to law of the land foreign security companies cannot operate in Pakistan.

He said if the previous government had granted any permission to a foreign company, it would be probed and legal action would be taken against those who issued visas or provided assistance in this connection.

Nisar said the PPP government issued 71,000 arms licenses, and it was one of the reasons behind increase in crime and terrorism.

He informed the House that 98 thousand Illegal residents, including foreigners and criminals, were living in Islamabad, adding residents of Kachi Abbadies resist the registration efforts.

He said two Islamabad police officials have booked who were involved in extortion cases.

“Govt officials involved in criminal activities would not be spared,” he said.

Nisar said legislation was required to award stern punishment in the cases of child abuse.
