Summary Unanimous declaration says action be taken against groups that refuse to take part in peace talks.
ISLAMABAD: According the copy of joint communiqué acquired by Dunya News, All Parties Conference held here to devise a national policy for getting rid of the menace of terrorism in the country, has unanimously agreed to initiate negotiations with the militant groups.
All the participants, representing the mainstream political parties, signed the joint comminique at the conclusion of the conference.
According to sources, it has been agreed that government would start process of talks with the militants at the first stage.
It was also agreed that the cooperation of religio-political parties would be sought to facilitate talks with various groups.
However, it was decided that action would be taken against those groups that refused to become the part of peace process.
The APC expressed the resolve to end extremism and terrorism from the country.
Regarding the drone attacks, APC declaration says that the matter would be taken up with the United Nations Security Council.
It was also agreed that federal government and provincial governments would coordinate in order to bring normalcy in Sindh, Balochistan and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif chaired the All Party Conference to chalk out a comprehensive strategy to tackle the menace of militancy and terrorism that is plaguing the country.
All Parties Conference concluded in Islamabad on Monday after adopting a joint communiqué calling to initiate result-oriented peaceful dialogue process to eliminate extremism from the country.
The Conference was chaired by Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif. It was attended by political and military leadership.
The Joint Communique was signed by all the participants. The Communique said there will be no compromise on Pakistan sovereignty and integrity.
It urged the Federal Government to raise the issue of drone attacks in the United Nations.
The participants expressed full solidarity with the armed forces.
Prior to the meeting, Nawaz Sharif and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf chief Imran Khan met at the Prime Minister’s Office.
Army Chief Gen Ashfaq Parvez Kayani and Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan also attended the meeting besides ISI Chief Lt Gen Zaheerul Islam.
