Summary Cases could not be opened becuase Asif Ali Zardari enjoyed immunity as President of the country.
ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) - Pakistan People’s Party leader Senator Aitzaz Ahsan said that Asif Ali Zardari enjoyed immunity as President of the country but the National Accountability Bureau might open cases against him after his departure from the presidency.
Speaking to media on Sunday after guard of honour ceremony at the President House, Ahsan said that there was no Constitutional restriction on the president to take part in politics.
He said that the PPP was ready to face the situation.
President Zardari left his office on Sep 8, after the expiry of his term and will no more be enjoying immunity.
President Zaradri reached his Lahore residence Sunday evening after he was seen off by a Guard of Honour at the President House Islamabad.
