LAHORE (Dunya News) - Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf has rejected fresh hike in petroleum product prices and announced to protest against it.
In a statement on Sunday, PTI Chairman Imran Khan termed the hike in POL prices as shameful.
“PTI will protest against this increase in and outside the parliament,” Imran Said.
He said it was failure of the government that it could not enhance the tax net, adding the government was increasing oil prices every month to meet its expenditures.
PPP, ANP, MQM and JI have also demanded of the government to withdraw the increase in the petroleum prices.
Traders and common people have already started expressing their resentment against the rise saying the step would cause huge inflation.
However, Minister for Information Pervaiz Rashid Sunday said that the local prices of petroleum were linked with the international market prices.
