Earlier on Wednesday, President-elect Mamnoon Hussain said the present government gives top priority to peace and security in Karachi as it is essential for prosperity and the development of the country.

“Prosperous Karachi means prosperous Pakistan. Without taking care of Karachi's economy we cannot think of better economy and development of the country,” he asserted while addressing business community at a dinner hosted for him by Karachi Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KCCI).

The president-elect underlined the need for joint efforts by all political parties/groups and other sections of the society for steering the country out of crisis.

These days in the world, he added, economy is given priority over politics.
