SC seeks detail of funds spent on Tauqir Sadiq's return

Summary Two-member bench of Supreme Court conducted hearing of OGRA implementation case Wednesday.


ISLAMABAD (Dunya News):-Supreme Court has ordered to submit the report regarding expenditures spent in order to take ex-OGRA chairman Tauqir Sadiq back to the country. 


Two-member headed by Justice Jawad S Khawaja resumed OGRA implementation case. During hearing, Justice Khawaja asked NAB Prosecutor General KK Agha to submit report regarding expenditures spent for taking OGRA’s ex-chairman back to the country.


The court also consulted that from whom this amount should be received.


The apex court also sought an explanation from the NAB officer about authorities who played pivotal role in appointing Tauqir Sadiq as chairman OGRA.


Justice Jawad S Khawaja also consulted that either any reference was submitted against those persons or not.


K.K Agha told the court that the approval of Chairman NAB is essential in order to submit a reference against those persons involved in the scam case and yet Chairman NAB is to be appointed.


He also said that the persons who helped escape Tauqir Sadiq are being probed, adding that there is outstanding progress in inquiry against National Highway, Punjab Police and FIA.


Next hearing of the above-mentioned case would be made on July 24.
