Summary Chinese enterprises have expressed keen interest in energy and infrastructure development.

 

SHANGHAI (Web Desk) - Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif has expressed his great happiness, satisfaction, that a large number of Chinese enterprises had expressed their keen interest in energy and infrastructure development.

 

Talking to secretary of ruling Communist Party of China, Han Zheng during an overnight meeting, he also expressed his belief that, Pakistan will overcome its energy challenges with Chinese support, also helping Pakistan to strengthening its economy.

 

On the occasion, the Prime Minister said that Pakistan and China being time tested friends, had together withstood the difficult times, adding, both the countries would keep supporting each other.

 

Earlier, secretary Han Zheng welcomed the Prime Minister of Pakistan and felicitated him on assuming the office of Chief Executive of Pakistan after his party’s success in May 11 general elections, expressing his pleasure over the Prime Minister’s first official visit to China , which he termed as a successful visit.

 

He further opined that the strong economic relations between the two countries would also help bring two people further closer.

 

Meanwhile during his visit to Guangzhou, Prime Minister visited China Southern Power Grid Corporation and also attended a briefing on power generation and its distribution.

 

He also visited Guangdong Electric Power Design Institute (GEDD) where he was given briefing on power generation and its distribution, while there are reports that during the briefing a major Chinese power transmission and Distribution Company "China Southern Power Grid" has agreed to help Pakistan overcome energy crisis.

 

The Prime Minister said energy crisis was the biggest challenge Pakistan is facing right now, while it was quite unfortunate that the previous government did not pay attention to resolve this crisis, making it worse.

 

Nawaz urged the company to seize the opportunities in energy sector in Pakistan, where there was huge potential in Pakistan to generate power through water‚ coal and wind and also desired for a mechanism to control the line losses in Country.
