ISLAMABAD (Online) - Speaker National Assembly (NA) Sardar Ayyaz Sadiq has said parliament has no role in prosecution of Pervez Musharraf under article 6 as this is matter in between Supreme Court, government, opposition and Pervez Musharraf.

“Parliament has no role in the matter of trial of Pervez Musharraf under article 6 of the constitution. Supreme Court, government and opposition and not the parliament have to decide about the conviction or exoneration of Pervez Musharraf because this matter remains in between Supreme Court, government and Pervez Musharraf”, he said this while talking to the journalists in parliament house Tuesday.

He went on say that Prime Minister Mian Nawaz Sharif had made it clear proceedings against Pervez Musharraf would be initiated outside parliament.

He held that it is staff which commits mistake in any department but its responsibility rests with the head of the department and he can not absolve himself from the responsibility.

This is doctrine of retribution that Musharraf who used to wave his punch before the nation is now behind the bars, he said adding man should fear from trying times and offer repentance to Almighty Allah.

To a question about issuance of cards about visitors gallery he said NA secretariat has decided that visitor’s gallery will remain vacant by 25 percent and more than two visitors passes will not be issued to any member of assembly.

To another question he said parliamentary federal lodges and old MNA hostel were under the occupation of government employees. 21 elected parliamentarians could not obtain residential accommodation in parliament lodges so far. Interior minister would take action against occupants.
