ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) - Attorney General Munir A Malik called on Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif here on Tuesday.
According to Media Reports, Legal, constitutional issues and the governments reply submitted in the Supreme Court came under discussion during the meeting.
According to sources, the government’s future course of action in regards to initiating a treason trial against former president, General (retd) Pervez Musharraf was also discussed.
On Monday, Prime Minister Sharif while addressing the National Assembly had said that the government would try Musharraf for treason under Article 6 of the constitution. The decision was met with widespread support from the opposition.
The Supreme Court had also directed Attorney General Malik to submit a written reply within three days regarding what measures would be taken to initiate proceedings.
