Summary Renowned social activist Abdul Sattar Edhi needs a donor, doctor said.
KARACHI (Dunya News) - Prominent philanthropist and social activist Abdul Sattar Edhi is suffering from kidney failure, doctors confirmed on Tuesday.
While talking to media in Karachi, doctor Adeeb Rizvi of Sindh Institute of Urology and Transplantation (SIUT) said that Abdul Sattar Edhi will require dialysis treatment for life.
“If we find a kidney, which matches, then we will transplant his kidneys.” Dr Rizvi said.
Abdul Sattar Edhi s organisation Edhi Foundation runs the world’s largest ambulance service and operates free nursing homes, orphanages, clinics, women’s shelters, and rehab centers for drug addicts and mentally ill individuals.
Moreover, the social worker also carried out relief operations in Africa, Middle East, the Caucasus region, eastern Europe and US where it provided aid following the New Orleans hurricane of 2005.
