LAHORE (Dunya News) –- Punjab Law Minister Rana Sanaullah on Tuesday clarified that the PML-N government is not under any pressure in a move to try former military ruler General (retd) Pervez Musharraf for treason.
Talking to media outside Punjab Assembly, the minister stated that Musharraf forced his subordinates to take unconstitutional steps after 1999 coup. He said holding his accomplices responsible would be unjustified. Their fate will be decided through trial.
“We are not under any pressure after Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif’s announcement in the National Assembly that the government will proceed to try Musharraf under the law,” Rana Sanaullah said.
