Summary Opposition has boycotted the session, for its recommendations were set aside by the government.
MUZAFFARABAD (Dunya News) - The Azad Jammu Kashmir Finance Minister‚ Chaudhry Lateef Akbar presented the budget for next fiscal year in the Legislative Assembly in Muzaffarabad.
According to facts and figures, Rs 10.50 billion have been allocated for welfare projects while the remaining amounted would be invested in other fields.
For construction of roads, the AJK government has allocated Rs 4.72 billion which comprises 45 percent of total amount allocated for welfare funds.
In order to overcome energy crisis, Rs 560 million would be invested on power projects while Rs 680 have been allocated for construction of small hydel projects.
Apart from this, heavy amount of Rs 850 million has been allocated for Local Government and Rural Development projects, Rs 110 million for Tourism and Rs 800 million for Education.
Environmentalism also has been given importance in the budget of AJK and Rs 20 million have been allocated for this purpose.
Rs 350 would be invested for wild life and fisheries, Rs 36 million for civil defence, Rs 150 for development and renovation of departments, Rs 20 million for Information technology and Rs 370 for Housing Sector.
It is worthy of note that the Opposition has boycotted the session of assembly, for its recommendations were set aside by the government.
