Summary At least six personnel of security forces were killed in militants’ attack in Matni area.
PESHAWAR (Dunya News) According to details, militants attacked a military convoy with rocket-propelled grenades and other heavy weapons in Sirah Khavrah area of Matni near Peshawar, killing six security forces personnel and injuring two others.
According to sources, security forces returned the fire and shot dead four attackers while others managed to escape from the scene.
Police and security officials cordoned off the area after the attack and launched a search operation.
Earlier, two people received injuries when some unidentified miscreants hurled a hand grenade at the Gulbahar Police Station. According to police, the bomb was hurled from Sikandar Khan flyover. Vehicles parked inside the police station were partially damaged in the attack.
