Summary Police on Sunday foiled a terrorism attempt in Rawalpindi and recovered huge cache of weapons.
RAWALPINDI (Dunya News) – Addressing a press conference, SSP Operations Rawalpindi, Sikandar Hayat informed that police on a tip-off stopped a Corolla car at Nasirabad check post upon which two youth present in the car tried to sped away from the scene.
Police followed them and arrested both of them. During search of the vehicle, police recovered large quantity of arms from CNG cylinder, including two suicide vests, 20 hand grenades, four Kalashnikovs, four pistols and large number of bullets.
According to preliminary investigation, Rawalpindi was the target of terrorists. Police informed that both the terrorist belonged to Miranshah. Police have shifted the terrorists to some undisclosed location for further investigation.
