Summary MQM has announced to observe ‘day of mourning’ today against killing and abduction of its workers.

 

KARACHI (Online) - Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) has announced to observe ‘day of mourning’ today (Friday) across the country against killing and abduction of its workers.

 

Addressing a press conference here on Thursday, member MQM Rabita Committee Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui said party sector and zonal offices would remain close today (Friday, June 14).

 

The MQM leader said that eight MQM workers are still missing, adding they were arrested by Rangers and men in plain clothes.

 

He appealed to the business community and all stake holders in the Sindh province to close down their business. 

 

Meanwhile, traders, transporters and private school associations have announced to observe day of mourning to express solidarity with MQM and decided to close down all business activities across the province.

 

Khalid Maqbool alleged that party workers were kidnapped and killed, and urged upon Chief Justice to take notice of the situation.

 

He said that Karachi's situation is being created like that of Balochistan and the party workers are being kidnapped and killed.
