ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Talking to media outside Parliament House on Wednesday, opposition leader in the National Assembly, Syed expressed reservations over the new budget.
He said that the decision of not increasing salaries of government servants would affect this class.
Khursheed said that increase in sales tax would not only affect everyone but would also increase prices that would worsen the already poor economic condition of the country.
He regretted the announcement of hike in electricity price and termination of all subsidies, adding that it would increase burden of the poor people.
He said that the government has broken the promise regarding elimination of power crisis within six months. Khursheed said that the budget speech discouraged the 190 million people of the country.
He said that members of Pakistan Peoples Party would try to put pressure on the government over changing the name of Benzir Income Support Programme.
“It was strongly hoped that the new budget would be masses friendly”, Shah maintained.
