LAHORE (Dunya News) - Public demonstrations against prolonged power outages continue in different areas on Saturday.
Punjab province is hit with worst electricity load shedding this year where urban areas are facing 16 to 18 hours of electricity load shedding and rural areas remain without power for 18-20 hours everyday.
In Multan, the citizens irked by prolonged unannounced load shedding, lost their patience came out on the roads and streets in hundreds. The demonstrators venting their anger raised vociferous slogans against the government and blocked Masoom Road by burning tyres.
As per details, power deficit has reached 1900MW in thirteen districts of MEPCO region.
On the other hand, electricity demand in Faisalbad stands at 2164MW whereas supply is recorded at 1121MW.
