Summary Rs 33 billion for education and Rs 21 billion have been proposed for health sector.


LAHORE (Dunya News) – According to the data relating to salient features of the budget, the Punjab budget for financial year 2013-14 envisages a total outlay of Rs 858 billion.

 

According to provincial finance ministry sources, volume of development budget has been proposed around Rs 271 billion out of which 15% amount would be spent on the new projects.

 

Rs 93 billion will be allocated for social projects whereas priority would be given to address poverty-related issues.

 

Rs 33 billion would be spent on education and Rs 21 billion to be allocated for health sector.

 

Also, 13 billion rupees would be spent on energy sector.

 

On the hand, Rs 77 billion have been proposed for police and Rs 15 billion are recommended for women development.
