Summary Nawaz Sharif has said that his govt would do all out efforts to rid country of energy crisis.

LAHORE, May 20 (APP): Pakistan Muslim League (Nawaz) Chief Mian Muhammad Nawaz Sharif said on Monday that PML-N was all set to rid the country of all sorts of problems and crises including energy and terrorism, despite meager resources and heavy debt burden left by the previous government.

Addressing the party’s newly elected parliamentarians here at Al-Hamra Hall, he welcomed all the party’s elected representatives and those independent parliamentarians, who joined the Nawaz League.

The PML-N chief stressed the need for keeping Pakistan supreme instead of doing mere politics and asked the newly elected members to make firm resolve for rendering all possible services for Pakistan and its people.

Nawaz Sharif said that May 11 proved to be a day of judgment and such kind of accountability refined the nations, as the people had given mandate to those parties, which remained in touch with them and resolved their problems, and “You saw the fate of the party, which delivered nothing during five years in government.”

The previous government completed its five-year in the office, he said and added that every elected government must be given its  due time to show its performance, and the practice of removing the governmentsthrough street protests had now become part of the past and such tactics must be given an end forever.

He said it was a good omen that for the first time in Pakistan’s history, a smooth transfer of power was being done, adding, “We are now moving towards a civilized nation.” Had the power transfers been done in a smooth manner during 65 years, Pakistan would have achieved much more development, he maintained.

The PML-N candidates, he said, won the general election with a huge margin against their opponents and lost with narrow margin, and managed to win 124 seats in the National Assembly and with the joining of the independent parliamentarians, the PML-N had now in position to form a single party government in the centre.

Nawaz Sharif said that PML-N had whole heartedly accepted the mandate of other parties in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Sindh, and offered them to form respective governments in these provinces. The PPP and MQM had the mandate in Sindh and they should form government there, he said and added that federal government would extend all possible help and assistance to them but there should be no more blood-shed.

The PML-N had the mandate in Punjab and Balochistan and would make its governments in these provinces, however, “We have invited all the parties to come up with their solutions for the problems facing Pakistan,” he said.

Mian Nawaz Sharif said that dialogue offer by Taliban must be taken seriously, as Pakistan had already lost 40,000 lives and faced severe economic crunch, adding that gun and bullet was not the solution to every problem, therefore, all the problems must be settled down on dialogue table.

Addressing the newly-elect parliamentarians, the PML-N Quaid Mian Nawaz Sharif said that Nawaz League was focusing on resolving the grave energy crisis, revival of economy and elimination of terrorism for a better Pakistan and prosperous people.

He said that at present, there was heavy burden of Rs 1600 billion debt on Pakistan, while, around Rs 500 billion were needed to end the electricity circular debt to generate more electricity to end load-shedding. Despite all odds, he said, the PML-N government would try its level best to not only finish the circular debt but also stop its re-growth so as to ensure relief to electricity consumers.

“We will not put this circular debt up to next governments or our future generations,” he said and added that people would observe with a month that N-League government was moving in the right direction.

Nawaz Sharif said that PML-N government would curtail its 30 percent non-developmental expenditures as envisaged in the party manifesto and “We will fulfill all promises made in our manifesto.”

He advised the newly elected parliament to upheld the supremacy of Pakistan, besides giving value to country’s precious time and be disciplined in all matters. He said the PML-N parliamentarians would help and serve all the people irrespective of the fact whether they voted to them or not.

Nawaz Sharif said that PML-N government would make every effort to bring Pakistan at par with developed countries.
