Summary Independent candidates ought to submit an affidavit expressing their commitment to any party.
ISLAMABAD (Online): Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has again made it clear that all the independent candidates should submit an affidavit stating that each one of them is joining a particular political party voluntarily and without any coercion.
The affidavit shall be duly sworn before the Oath Commissioner and shall be deposited with the Provincial Election Commissioner concerned or with the Deputy Director (Cord.), Election Commission of Pakistan Secretariat, Islamabad on Saturday, says a press release.
All the successful candidates for General Elections, 2013 shall file their Returns of Election Expenses latest by 20th of May, 2013 with the Returning Officers concerned.
The candidates who shall be elected against reserved seats for women and minorities shall also file their Returns of Election Expenses with the Returning Officers concerned.
Meanwhile, any successful candidate including the candidates for seats reserved for women and non-Muslims shall not be notified in the official gazette, unless he/she deposits the Returns of Election Expenses as required under the law.
