Summary Ex-MNA Jamshed Dasti withdraws from NA-178.

 

MUZAFFARGARH (Dunya News) – Former member of National Assembly Jamshed Dasti on Monday decided to join Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PML-N).

 

Dasti won general election as an independent candidate from NA-177 and NA-178 constituencies of Muzaffargarh.

 

He secured 76,562 votes against Nawabzada Nasarullah’s son Nawabzada Mansoor in NA-177 and defeated former foreign minister Hina Rabbani Khari’s father Noor Rabbani with 79,198 votes from NA-178 constituency.

 

On April 4, Dasti was disqualified from elections, slammed with a three year sentence in jail and Rs 5,000 penalty by the Muzaffargarh District and Sessions court on account of having a fake degree.

 

Later on, the Lahore High Court Multan Bench ordered his release and declared the three-year jail term handed to him as null and void.
