Summary Secretary ECP Ishtiak Ahmad says delay in results announcement is due to legal procedure.
ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) - Addressing a news conference in Islamabad on Sunday‚ Secretary Election Commission Ishtiak Ahmad said that there should be no doubt about the election results.
He said the delay in the announcement of the results was due to the transparent process and legal procedure adopted by the Election Commission under section 39.
Ishtiak said several reservations have been expressed in the media and by the people about the delay in the results due to the past practices and assured that this time the process was so designed that no tempering is possible.
The Secretary ECP said the presiding officer is bound to provide results of polling station to the agents of every candidate.
