Summary Heads of various states telephoned Nawaz Sharif and congratulated him over election victory.
LAHORE – Heads of China, India, UAE, Saudi Arabia, Afghanistan Turkey, Kuwait and Iran made telephone calls to PML-N President Nawaz Sharif and congratulated him for winning the general elections.
Caretaker prime minister Mir Hazar Khan khoso also telephoned Sharif to congratulate him.
Unofficial results from Saturday’s election showed a stunning comeback for Nawaz Sharif who was earlier deposed as prime minister in a 1999 military coup and spent years in jail and exile.
Nawaz Sharif is now heading for a third term as Pakistan s prime minister.
