Summary Security has been tightened ahead of Saturday's polls.
KHYBER AGENCY (Dunya News) – The security has been put on high alert to thwart any possible untoward incident during election in NA-45 and NA-46 constituencies of Khyber Agency.
Official source said that Pak-Afghan Torkham border will be sealed by evening today (Friday), Meanwhile, the NATO supply will remain suspended.
“Fair & free election is our top priority,” Returning Officer Jahangir Azam said.
ECP has declared 46 out 122 polling stations as sensitive in NA-45 constituency. Also, 58 polling stations have been declared as sensitive in NA-46.
Security officials have been directed to enhance the security of sensitive polling and important locations in the area.
At least 100 people have been killed by bombers and gunmen since beginning of the election campaigns on April 11.
The Taliban have directly threatened the three main parties in the outgoing government, the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP), the ANP and the Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM), which are often described as secular.
