ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – The counsel for ex-dictator Musharraf, Ibrahim Satti has said that the president can take unconstitutional steps in the best of national interests.

The three-member bench of the Supreme Court, headed by Justice Jawwad S Khawaja, resumed hearing of petitions seeking initiation of a high treason case against former president Pervez Musharraf on Monday.

Pervez Musharraf’s lawyer Ibrahim Satti continued his arguments in the case. He said that his client and chief justice were the key players of all the events since March 9.

Justice Khilji Arif Hussain said that the hearing was not against individuals, adding that the bench had to decide if a treason case could be launched against Musharraf under article 6.
