Summary Terrorists Sunday attacked military covey travelling from Bannu to North Waziristan.

 

BANNU: (Agencies) - According a military official three security personnel were martyred in a bomb attack near a check post in Bannu.


The convey of security forces was attacked with a remote controlled bomb near F R Khawaja Khar check post as a result of which three army personnel were martyred.


Security sources have confirmed killing of three men.


Four security men were also injured in the attack.


No group has claimed the responsibility for the attack so far.


Officials said the bomb planted in Haider Khel area alongside the main Bannu-Miran Shah Road exploded Sunday when a military convoy was passing, while a civilian curfew was in force.


Both officials spoke on condition of anonymity because they are not authorized to speak to reporters.


North Waziristan is a sanctuary for Taliban militants who often carry out attacks against security forces. Two recent attacks on military checkpoints killed 21 soldiers and three civilians.


The Pakistani military usually retaliates for such attacks with small-scale operations but has shown reluctance to launch a full-fledged military offensive.
