LAHORE (Dunya News) – The measles epidemic has claimed three more lives, rising the overall death toll to fifty three in the Punjab province.
One of the deceased was identified as Fatima, 3, who was undergoing treatment at Children Hospital of Lahore. She belonged to Vehari.
Meanwhile, the other two, Bismillah, 3, and Arsalan, 3, succumbed to disease at Lahore’s Mayo Hospital today.
The international organization Gavi has assured Punjab government of full support in controlling the spread of the epidemic. The organization will not only provide funds but will also technically assist the team of doctors to curb the epidemic.
